Opening Ceremony of Better World Social Center for Supporting Women and Girls in Shekhan

Our director “Walaa Musheer Ahmed” is participating in One Young World 2023 summit in #Belfast @oneyoungworld presenting Kurdistan and Iraq among people from 190+ countries all over the world.

Continuation of building the capacity of Women Rights Organizations in Ninewe,4 days of advanced capacity building training on “Proposal Writing and Resource Mobilization” last training from a series of trainings was conducted to the 10 targeted WROs by BWO.
This training is a part of “Strengthening Women’s Rights Movements on the Women, Peace, and Security agenda in three fragile contexts “ project that is implemented by Better World in partnership with CARE Iraq with support of Bundesministerium für wirtschaftliche Zusammenarbeit und Entwicklung (BMZ)

The annual One Young World Summit brings together over 2,000+ of the brightest young leaders from every country and sector, working to accelerate social impact both in-person and digitally.

Our “Women Peace Council ” in Sarsink part of our project “Strengthening the Capacity of Young Women for Meaningful Participation in Decision Making in their Communities” with support of @Cordaid restored a street with beautiful touches in a spot that people from the area and tourists regularly visit, in order to have a better environment and be a more comfortable place.

On 30th July Better World Organization in coordination with Directorate of Youth in Duhok in the occasion of its project end under the title of “Strengthening the Capacity of Young Women for Meaningful Participation in Decision Making in their Communities” under Women Voice First Project with @Cordaidiraq conducted a closing event under the name “ Supporting Young Women Meaningful Participation in Decision Making and Peace Building”
The event presented the result of the project and conduct a panel discussion where stakeholders were invited to discuss how they can better support meaningful participation of young women focusing on UNSCR 1325 women, peace and security.

we are happy to start (Family Case Management and Counseling) as a piloting activity within our project with SOS “Enhancing Safe Environment in Families from Host Community in Duhok City ” and in collaboration with Directorate of Social centers within general directorate of care and social development in Duhok. We have just finished the first important step of the activity which was 12 days TOT training to the Directorate and BWO staff. Special thanks goes to Professors Dr. Chachan and the continuous support of Mr Khalid the Director of the Directorate. Together we are planing strategic plan for this activity.
